In the center of this scheme lays the purchase of a kiln worth 250, 000 pounds which will transform inferior quality wood into superior material.
This drying treatment could bring the Welsh forest millions of pounds in benefits.
The new timber factory will offer 20 new jobs, by creating a joinery and a wood processing workshop.
Currently, the Welsh Governmental Association, which finances this operation, is searching for areas in the Caerphilly Region suitable for building the factory; the Local Council supports this action.
Leighton Andrews, an official of the Environment Ministry states: “This is a very interesting project, resulted from a partnership which will not only create new work places, but will increase tremendously the potential of the Welsh wood industry. Both these aspects will benefit our local communities”.
One of the partners involved in this project is the Siren company, established for reinstating unemployed persons in the work field, this doubling their staff.
Mr. Andrews adds: “The new factory will produce, in its new joinery superior quality timber much needed in the construction sector and will also create new job opportunities in an area which needs them so.”
It is estimated that the factory will become operational until Christmas. |
