The Organising Committee of the Dubai International Wood and Wood Machinery Show has wrapped up a successful roadshow in Saudi Arabia, amid expectations that more than 1000 Saudi businesspersons and visitors from all over the Kingdom will attend the premier wood industry show. Held as part of a region-wide promotion tour for the 15th edition of the show, due to take place from 16th to 18th March at Dubai World Trade Centre. On the final leg of its tour, the committee finished a fruitful trip to Saudi Arabia, where they met key Saudi stakeholders, including businessmen, industry professionals and investors, who were introduced to major opportunities and facilities offered to participants at the three-day event, as well as to the show`s most important exhibitors.

Wood pellets market going to reach USD millions By the end of 2023
Wood pellet is a solid fuel that is produced by crushing and densifying waste timber like sawdust, forestry residues, industrial byproducts like old paper and forestry wastes. The length is 1-2 cm and the diameter is generally 6, 8, 10, or 12mm. It is possible to produce 25mm wood pellet at maximum. In Sweden, 6mm wood pellet is encouraged to use in house as it can realize the best condition of combustion. Wood pellet production doesn`t need to add binder as lignin, an element of wood, plays a role of binder and helps to pelletize when it is melted by heat.

In many ways, 2019 has been a rough year for Canada`s forestry industry, particularly in B.C. The ongoing softwood lumber dispute in the U.S., challenging market conditions and high log prices led to low softwood lumber prices and sales, as Madison`s Lumber Reporter informed readers weekly. Most of Canada`s major lumber producers posted lower profits or losses in 2019. In B.C., nine sawmills closed permanently, while another 26 took downtime. These mill curtailments have not only impacted sawmill workers, but also logging contractors throughout the province. In September, over 400 logging trucks made their way to Vancouver to protest...
